The theme of the month at WOW! Embossing is rainbows and don’t we all just need those right now? I hope you’re all staying safe, feeling healthy and keeping calm. Virtual hugs to each and every single one of you.

WOW! Embossing carries so many different colors of embossing powder that you can easily pull together lots of different combinations to form a rainbow. I decided to opt for some of the embossing glitters in my stash along with the Altenew Mix & Match Mariposa dies. I love creating repeat patterns with die cuts – this technique works really well for rainbows.

To create my card, I first created my butterflies. I took a strip of white cardstock and inked up an area around 2″ x 1″ with my WOW! embossing ink pad by running it directly over the cardstock. I then sprinkled my first color of embossing glitter over the top (I started with Red – Ruby Romance) and heated. I always heat from underneath with embossing glitter to avoid it flying off before it sticks. I let it cool then repeated to add another layer.

I repeated this for the rest of the colors of my rainbow (all of the colors are listed below with the exception of the blue – Pacific Wave). I then die cut out a small intricate butterfly from the Altenew Mix & Match Mariposa from each of the colors. I also cut the solid small butterfly from the set from Gold Mirror cardstock 7 times. I adhered them together to create 7 double layered butterflies – the glue was only applied along the body of the butterfly to enable the wings to stick up for dimension.

To pull my card together, I took a 4″ panel of Gina K square cardstock and stamped the large circular Hi sentiment in the centre with WOW! embossing ink, then heat embossed in WOW! Regular Rich Pale Metallic Gold. I then arranged the butterflies around the sentiment evenly and adhered with liquid glue. For a finishing touch, I added some Crater Lake clear sequins around the edge, and one for the tittle on the i in Hi. I then mounted it all to a card base using craft foam.

You can link up your rainbow embossed cards over on the WOW! Embossing Fans Facebook page and be in with a chance to win a GC to spend at the WOW! store!

Have a good, safe, healthy week.
