Hi Everyone!
It’s the day of the Welcome Home release from Catherine Pooler Designs and it is AMAZING! Today we are doing an Instagram hop so be sure to head over to my Instagram to take part.
With products that transport you to your favorite small town along with cheerful hints of spring, you are going to love creating, stamping, die cutting and coloring with these! There are TWO $25 Gift Certificates to Catherine’s store up for grabs on Instagram!
I created two cards for the hop, using the new Deco Circles Cover Plate die. I first created a watercolor panel by smushing CP inks onto my craft mat, spritzing them with water, and then painting them in horizontal stripes across some watercolor cardstock.
The colors I used were Suede Shoes, Fiesta Blue, It’s a Boy, Crushed Grape, Flirty Fuchsia, and It’s a Girl. I spritzed the watercolor cardstock with water first so the colors blended more easily. I then dried it. As a finishing touch I spritzed it with shimmer spray.
I die cut a panel of CP Premium White cardstock with the new Deco Circles Coverplate die. I then die cut the watercolored panel saving all of the pieces. I adhered the white die cut piece to an A2 size panel of premium white cardstock. I then paper pieced all of the watercolored pieces with liquid adhesive for an inlaid die cut look.
The sentiments are from the Awesome & Wonderful stamp set and were stamped on strips of Midnight black cardstock, embossed in WOW! Opaque Bright White embossing powder. I adhered them at jaunty angles on the front with foam tape and then stamped the matching sentiment inside with a couple of the ink colors I used on the front. Don’t you just love these sentiment building sets?!
My second card uses the die cut from the watercolor panel from the first card, which I decided to make a shaker out of. I die cut a circle from an A2 panel of CP Smoke and Mirrors cardstock that was just a little smaller than the circle in the centre of the Deco Circles coverplate. I then adhered the coverplate diecut over the top.
I added acetate behind the panel and foam tape. My shaker pieces are CP Bourbon Street sequins which go great with the ink colors I chose. To close the panel, I stamped the Cottage Corsage in Clear embossing powder on another panel of Smoke and Mirrors cardstock and then backed it onto the shaker panel.
The sentiment was heat embossed on Midnight cardstock in white as before and trimmed out. I then added the main sentiment the inside of the card using Fiesta Blue and Suede Shoes ink.
Such a wonderful release!! Totally awesome! Be sure to head on over to Instagram to hop along and be in with a chance to win. The winners will be announced on Catherine’s Blog on 18th February.
