Hi Everyone!

We are gearing up for Thanksgiving here in the Colacicco household.  My in-laws are away visiting other family and so for the first time, we are on our ‘own’ for Thanksgiving.  And panicking.  I’ve never cooked a turkey before.  Someone at work tried to explain it to me “it’s like when you cook a chicken..” I’ve never cooked a whole chicken before.  PANIC. Also I’m English and American Thanksgiving side dishes confuse me.  So I’m basically buying the content of an English Christmas dinner and hoping for the best!

With that all being said, I’m popping in for a card I created a while ago and never got around to posting, and to wish you all a very happy Thanksgiving.  I’m thankful for all of the wonderful crafty friends I’ve met out here in blog world and also the opportunity to meet a few of them in real life.  Your comments on my cards really brighten my days!

My card today features the Altenew Bamboo Roses and Brutus Monroe Glitter Glaze which I’m lovvvving.  I recently posted a video using the Unicorn Horn Glaze and today I’m using the Raven which is a sparkly matte black glitter.  I used it with the Newton’s Nook Floral Lace stencil over a panel of 110lb white cardstock.

I set aside the panel to dry, and made my roses.  The roses were stamped in Versamark ink onto the same white cardstock.  I heat embossed them with WOW! Gold Sparkle embossing glitter, and then die cut them out with the co-ordinating dies.

To color my images I blended ink over the florals and leaves with an ink dauber.  I used Catherine Pooler inks in Sauna and Eucalyptus.  I blended the ink heavily at the edges and gently faded it in towards the centre of each leave and blossom to create dimension.

I adhered the flowers with liquid adhesive and foam squares to the panel, around a sticker sentiment (backed with cardstock to make it more sturdy) from a Spellbinders card kit and as a finishing touch, adhered some Simon Says Stamp Sunshine mix sequins.  The panel was adhered to a white 110lb card base.

Hope it brightens your day and for those of you celebrating Thanksgiving – Happy Holidays!
