Hi Everyone!
The Catherine Pooler Designs Creative Team are having an Instagram Hop today in celebration of the upcoming All The Trimmings new release on October 17th. Be sure to head over to Instagram (link on my homepage) and hop along – comment on each of the stops on the hop to be in with a chance to win a prize from Catherine Pooler! Winners will be announced on October 22nd on Catherine’s blog.
My card for the hop features the amazing and intricate Holly & Berries Coverplate die from the new release. To create the card, I took an A2 panel of watercolor cardstock and swiped Arteza brush markers in rainbow order across the panel, leaving a little space between each one. I then used a waterbrush to blend out the pens and blend them into each other.
When dry, I flicked Gold Color Shine Spritz onto the panel, and then when dry, die cut it with the coverplate. I forgot to use a metal shim in my die-cutting machine, and the coverplate still made it all the way through 140lb coldpress watercolor without trouble. I popped the die cut up onto a Catherine Pooler Designs Premium White notecard using foam squares. I added White Blizzard Nuvo Glitter Drops onto the holly berries.
Design Tip:
To avoid a big ‘blob’ do those furthest apart first, then when dry, add the centre drop.
For the sentiment, I stamped the Peace stamp from Seasonal Sentiments and Borders in black waterproof ink, and then colored with the blue and green brush markers, blending with a waterbrush. I then fussy cut out the letters and adhered them with liquid adhesive. I also added some Nuvo Crystal Glaze on each of the letters.
The Happy Holidays is from the Santa Approved Stamp set which I stamped in Versamark ink onto Midnight cardstock and heat embossed with WOW! Bright White embossing powder. I trimmed off the border and then adhered with a foam strip.
There’s much more to come to celebrate this release – stay tuned!! As a reminder – be sure to go on over to Instagram to comment on this card (and the others in the hop) to be in with a chance to win. Of course, your comments on my blog are always appreciated!!
