HI Everyone

I’m over on the Topflight Stamps blog today using a cool technique I saw Lydia Fiedler use a while ago with powdered watercolors and Versamark Ink.  Today I’m using Infusions by PaperArtsy.  These are incredibly pigmented powdered watercolor paints, a little goes a long way!

I am only using three colors today  – Violet Storms, Are You Cerise and Emereld Isle.  And believe it or not, each of the tree cards only used one color – the variety of colors you see on the cards is actually the reaction you get when water touches the powder.

For the technique I used today, I took a panel of cold press watercolor paper, and stamped an Oak Tree image by Lavinia in Versamark ink.  I then stamped it down, and gentle shook a few taps of Emerald Isle (I punched a hole in the top of the lid with a craft pick) over the stamped image.  Be very sparing, you don’t need much at all.  Gently blow or tap off and any that is not adhered to the Versamark will fall off.

For the green tree and the cluster of trees (also by Lavinia), I reinked my stamp in Versamark and stamped over the top again, and then heat embossed in gold embossing powder (Oak Tree) and Rose Gold powder (cluster of trees).  This way, the paint appears to have wicked out around the line of the tree.   I finished with a sentiment by Creative Expressions Showered with Love, stamped in black ink, and heat embossed in silver embossing powder.

You can also use the Infusions for emboss resist.  For my last card, I heat embossed the Four Beautiful Butterflies stamp by Crafty Individuals with white embossing powder.  I then added a tiny amount of the powder in each quarter of the image (Cerise in the upper right and lower left, and Violet in the remaining two), spritzed with water and let the paint wick out and blend together.  I let it air dry, trimmed it out and popped it up on a card base.  The sentiment is from the Creative Expressions set, stamped in black ink.  I love the way these two colors blend together!

There are so many more amazing techniques you can do with these paints, I am going to have much more play time with them soon!

Have a wonderful day!
