Hi Everyone!

It’s time for a new Time Out Challenge, and this week our theme is BOLD! For my card I have gone bold by using neon watercolors overlaid on a gorgeous die cut background by our sponsor Poppystamps.

To create my card, I die cut a 4bar size panel of cold press watercolor paper with the Tulisa backrgound die from Poppystamps, who were kind enough to give the Design Team our choice of products to play with. I love this die, I’m totally going to be using it to create a stained glass look with Nuvo Drops in the future! For this card, I used a waterbrush and painted random spots of neon yellow, neon pink and neon purple round the die cut piece, and added some spatters by flicking the brush.  I did this after diecutting to get some pooling around the window shapes, to give a different look.  The paints I used are linked below.  They are the Kissoh Gansai watercolors.  Very similar to Kuretake Gainsai Tambi, but you get 72 colors, and they include the neons, some metallics, and some pearls.  They’re amazing.

Once the panel was dry, I popped it up on foam tape to a 110lb Neenah Solar White 4bar card base, trimming it down slightly to leave a border.  I then diecut the Poppystamps Capri Heart with gold mirror cardstock and popped that up on the panel.  The sentiment was from a Birch Press set, heat embossed in white on black cardstock, trimmed our and adhered with a double layer of foam tape.

To finish I added some Honeybee Stamps Clear Iris sequins.  These are probably my favorite sequins right now – they’re so shiny and pretty in real life.

Please be sure to hop on over to the Time Out Challenges site to see some more inspiration from the team.

This week we are also joined by the Poppystamps DT too, and our guest designer  Marieke has created a gorgeous card to inspire you too!  The winner of our challenge will receive $20 to spend in Poppystamps store!!!

Have a wonderful day!

  2. WOW is all I have to say! Well, I have to say more… this is really fantastic Jenny! I love the neon watercolor effect on that awesome die cut. The little gold heart (I got that too) works so beautifully with your design and color choice. The white on black sentiment really pops. Just a wonderful composition. I love all of it!
