Hi Everyone!
I have a fun, bright and SPARKLY card for you today! It features the new Altenew Craft-A-Flower – the Daffodil. AND if that’s not all, Altenew is releasing brand new Glitter Cardstock in perfect little die-cut-able sizes like it’s other gradient cardstocks. Today’s post is part of an Altenew blog hop, which you can start over at the Altenew stop, if you didn’t land here from Svitlana’s blog.
You know I like to change up the color schemes on my CAFs for something a little more unexpected, but there’s just something about that classic yellow and green for daffodils that’s just so uplifting don’t you think? I added a little pizzaz by incorporating the glitter cardstock into a more unexpected part fo the flower – the stems!
For the main flower, I created custom inked cardstock to die cut my flower layers – I used Marigold, Snapdragon, Chamomile and Sunray inks, which I just swiped across white cardstock then die cut the layers. I also used Almond Butter the darker parts of the centre, and layered them all together with glue.
I die cut the stems from the new glitter cardstock collection ‘Forest Canopy’ and adhered them together with glue. While I only focused on the green shades for this card, there are so many to choose from in this release with great quality and no glitter showers! (You know what I mean!) – Altenew has said if so, you can sign up for back-in-stock notification on their product page to get notified by email as soon as it comes back in again.
For my background panel I used a 5.5″ x 4.25″ panel of Woodgrain Powder cardstock, spritzed with Warm Sunshine metallic spray. I arranged the daffodil with foam tape and glue slightly offset to the right, and adhered it. The sentiment is layered white cardstock on vellum, using the All About You word die, mounted on foam tape. To finish, I scattered some white and iridescent sequins to add shine without detracting from that pretty glitter stem.

That’s kinda cool that only the leaves are glitzy. It kind of makes a trio of equal elements as the focal point of the card. (bloom, glitter leaves, sentiment)
