Hello there crafters! It’s that wonderful time of the month where Gina K Designs reveals all the lovely new designs in the latest release. I was excited to get my mitts on the latest floral design from the amazing Arjita Singh ‘Just Breathe’. A fantastically versatile set that allows you to create a floral water lillies scene for a little meditation when its needed!
I stamped the large floral directly in the centre of a panel of cold press watercolor cardstock using Warm Glow Amalgam ink. I then stamped it again on Masking Magic paper and cut it out, overlaying it on top of the lily. I then aligned the leaf stamps and the other floral over the top and around the main image and stamped them too using my MISTI.
I painted the florals with my Daniel Smith Watercolors pan palette, painting each petal separately, first with clear water, then dropping the colors in and letting it wick out, keep the depth towards the inner parts of the florals. I used different shades of purple and blue-gray, mixed together on my palette. Ofr the leaves I used blue greens and greens. When dry, I added yellow and brown highlights into the centre.
I added a thin wash of blue-green over the lower third of the panel to look like water, adding it right over the painted images, darkening up the color just like translucent water would do. I also added a few splatters here and there using the same paint colors.
For the sentiment, I stamped it directly onto the panel with embossing ink, and heat embossed in Rose Gold embossing powder. I added a few coordinating sequins to finish.
