Morning everyone! (Or afternoon if you’re enjoying this blog hop later in your day!) Today’s the first day of April and Altenew is revealing its new Build-A-Flower – the Belladonna Lily! Head on over to the Altenew Card Blog to start at the beginning if Linda Westfall didn’t send you my way already as part of today’s blog hop!
I LOVE THE LAYERING ON THIS FLORAL! Sometimes layering stamps just work so perfectly and this months is extra gorgeous! I went for full on pink and teals on my colors today, I’m digging this color combo!
I first stamped my flowers (twice) – for the petals I used the Rose Petal set of colors and you’ll notice I didn’t stamp the outline – I wanted a more painterly look. I then stamped the stems, using Lagoon and Mountain Mist Crisp Dye Ink. I then die cut them out with the coordinating die.
On another panel of white cardstock, I ink blended the same pinks over the Fine Tulle Stencil, fading out here and there for an uneven look. I added a sentiment stamped in Obsidian Pigment ink from the set. I love how bold that ‘Hello’ looks against those soft flowers don’t you? I added a few splatters in Jet Black ink Spray and then adhered the die cut flowers over the top with foam tape.
I adhered the panel to a white notecard and scattered a few pink crystals. I picked out the centres of the flowers with black gel pen to finish (and to tie in with that bold black sentiment). I love love love this color combo and can’t wait to try it out again – what do you think?
