Hi there fellow crafters! It’s the first of the month and that means you were sent my way more than likely as part of the Altenew Build-A-Flower February 2022 blog hop by LauraJane! (If not, you can head on over to the Altenew Card Blog to start at the beginning!).
This month’s flower is the beautiful Narcisuss and I just love it’s sunny nature – I had to create two cards for today’s hop – of course in yellows!
I started by stamping LOTS of the Narcissus in a variety of yellow inks – you can see in one or two, the florals are a little deeper in color – I simply grabbed a slightly darker orange ink for these. I used my MISTI to stamp and it was simple to flip the cardstock round to keep on stamping the layers!
I used the Pocketful of Sunshine and Golden Sunset sets of inks, changing them up across florals. I also used Jet Black Ink for the outlines. The leaves were stamped with Green Fields ink set. After I was done with all my stamping I used the coordinating die cuts to cut out all of the florals and leaves and set aside.
My background on my first card features a background I created a long time ago (as part of my Stunningly Styled Stencils class). It features ‘stamping’ using the Floral Wallpaper stencil inked up and spritzed with water, then run through a die cutting machine. It creates an imprint on the cardstock.
I used some Jet Black ink to also add splatters to the background, then mounted the Narcissus onto the cardstock with instant dimension tape. I heat embossed the sentiment in Pure White Crisp Embossing Powder onto Jet Black cardstock, and die cut it out with an Apothecary Label. To finish, I added a few clear drops.
For my second card, the background is also a stencil. It features the Broken Chevron stencil, which I spritzed with Antique Gold Metallic Ink Spray. I then adhered several of the Narcissus flowers over the panel, popped up on foam tape. I trimmed off excess to create a flush A2 panel.
I heat embossed the sentiment again, and fussy cut it out. I then finished with several clear drops scattered here and there!
