Hi there crafty people, I hope you’re having a great week so far! I’m popping in today to show you the projects I created with the brand new Spellbinders release Yana’s Blooms Collection – designed by the super talented Yana Smakula.
This collection is a joy to create with and I couldn’t resist featuring all of my card projects today on the geo frame included in the Geo Foliage Glimmer Hot Foil set. I used this three different ways – from left to right – a glimmered border on black, then die cut both sides to create a black frame, inlaid with the negative; a glimmered white border with only the outer edge die cut, and a gold die cut frame (minus the glimmer) as the edging to a shaker window.
My first card also features the Yana’s Blooms Magnolia Bouquet Glimmer Hot Foil plates. I glimmered the border and the florals and leaves in Gold Glimmer Foil on white cardstock (Neenah Solar White) and die cut them out.
On the florals I added a touch of pink ink in the centre with an ink blender, and then arranged the leaves and florals with foam tape in the centre of the frame. The sentiment is from an earlier release – Yana’s Tiny Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil, glimmered in Gold onto Glossy Black cardstock and mounted on foam tape. I finished with a few Fashion Gold Embellishments, then popped the panel onto a white note card with foam tape.
My second card features a glimmered geo frame again, but this time I used both the inner and outer dies in the Geo Foiliage set to die cut out the frame. I also glimmered all of the foiliage onto black and rose cardstock. Due to the rough nature of the cardstock I used, it came out a little distressed on the rose cardstock, but I liked the look – kind of vintagey!
I took the inner geo frame solid panel, and arranged the foiled foliage around it, adhered with foam tape for dimension, trimming off the excess. I then adhered it and the gold frame to a white notecard. Again I finished with Fashion Gold Embelishments and Yana’s Tiny Sentiments.
My final card features the shaker element. I used just the inner and outer dies from the Geo Foliage set and die cut a frame from Gold Mirror cardstock. I also used the new Diagonal Glimmer Stripes plate from Yana’a Blooms Collection and glimmered rose and white cardstock. I die cut the inner geo frame from the white piece and then adhered the Gold Mirror frame to the front.
Flipping over the panel, I adhered a panel of acetate and then a double layer of foam tape to create a well for my shaker pieces and adhered foam tape ver the rest of the back of the panel. I added lots of pale blue, pink, white and iridescent sequins by piling them up onto my rose glimmered panel in the centre. I then overlaid the white window piece, lining up the diagonal stripes before pushing down. This creates the main shaker.
I had some left over Magnolia Bouquet buds and leaves, which I adhered to the front of the frame and then popped in a sentiment from the same sentiment glimmer set to finish!
Three very different looks with similar sets. What do you think? I LOVE this set – those diagonal stripes are such a stash staple!

Beautiful projects. I love the ideas for the different takes on the frame.
