Hi everyone! It’s time for a brand spanking new stand-alone embossing folder and stencil release from Altenew! This release is resplendent in Fabulous Flora (hence the name!) and I have lots of fun projects to share today. Hopefully you were sent here by LauraJane but if not, I highly recommend starting at the beginning of today’s hop over on the Altenew Blog!

For my first card today I’m featuring the Blobby Roses 4 in 1 Stencil Set. This creates a fun and whimsical rose background (or you can die cut out the images). I took my color inspiration from a faux Peony Spray I had hanging up and tried to mimic it with my ink colors.

My background is Spicy Yoghurt cardstock, which adds a nice muted tone to the card, while still allowing the colors to stay true. I used Peach Perfect, Rhodolite and Pinkalicious. The leaves were stamped with the Green Valley ink set.

For my sentiment, I decided to create my own using the Calligraphy Alpha Die Set, cut from Gilded Glitter Cardstock and popped up on foam strips. I also added some vellum die cut leaves and crystals for a little more interest.

My next project features the the Cupped Blossoms 3D Embossing folder – a gorgeously detailed folder with gigantic florals. I dry embossed it from Apple Red cardstock and then lightly rubbed a white pigment ink pad over the tops of the florals, letting the upper edges catch the pigment. If you look closely, you’ll see I also sprinkled some clear chunky glitter before the pigment ink dried, adding a little sparkle.

When dry, I seal in the glitter with a spritz of Krylon sealant. I then fussy cut out the flowers and adhered them to a white notecard with Instant Dimension Foam Tape, trimming off the excess.

The sentiment is stamped in Obsidian Pigment Ink and comes from the Peony Spray stamp set.

Carrying on the fab embossing folders from this release, one MUST have for your stash is the Fringe Embossing Folder. This is a perfect backdrop for almost any type of card, but I couldn’t resist using it for a dessert card, dry embossed on a pale rose cardstock.

I rubbed Enchanting Gold Pigment Ink over one side of the embossing folder prior to running it through my die cutting machine, leaving a pretty gold impression in the crevices of the Fringe debossing.

I paired this with the Sweet Love stamp set, using a variety of vanilla and pale yellows for the ice cream and bowl (see the insert of the stamp set which lays out all the colors I used – I love these inserts for ink inspriation). I paired them with Pinkalicious and Pink Diamond for the rose and chocolates, as well as a touch of gold gel pen.

I finished with a Pure White heat embossed sentiment on Jet Black cardstock and a few pink gems.

My final project today features the Meadow Burst 5 in 1 Stencil Set – a detailed layering stencil that produces a gorgeous big spray of florals. I ink blended the inks using the Mini and Detail Ink Blending Brushes. I used a variety of green inks, and added flowers with Coral Bliss and Heart Beat.

You”ll notice I moved the spray to the bottom right corner of my card panel (using Spicy Yogurt again). This position makes it a little trickier to line up the stencil so I’d recommending doing on a larger panel of card first then trimming down how you like it.

The sentiment was heat embossed in Antique Gold – it’s from the Just a Number stamp set. The eagle eyed amongst you will see I also added a touch of gold gel pen in the spray itself.
