Hi crafty peeps! You’ve reached my stop on today’s hop celebrating Altenew’s new Sparkle & Shine release! You should have landed here from the lovely Norine’s blog. If not, you can start at the Altenew blog here. This release is HUGE. There are dies, stamps, embossing folders, coloring books for use with your Artists Markers AND NEW INKS!! WOOHOO! Love me some new ink colors amiright!?

I have lots of inspiration to share with you today so let’s dive in. My very favorite set in this release is In the Woodland. It features gorgeous scripty fonts, and a pair of pretty floral clusters. Perfect for watercoloring! I stamped the image with Vanilla Cream Crisp Dye Ink onto cold press watercolor cardstock, then used my Artist’s Watercolor pan to paint the florals, building up the color layers. I die cut out the image with the coordinating die.

For my background, I dry embossed a panel of pale pink cardstock with the Window Slats 3D embossing folder (from an older release), and splattered it with Pure White Ink Spray. I then mounted the flowers top with foam tape. I heat embossed the sentiment with Rose Gold embossing powder, fussy cut it out and adhered to the panel. I finished with a few Satin White sequins.

My next card features the new Cross Weaves 3D embossing folder. I just had to dry emboss holographic cardstock with this folder!

I didn’t have to do much with this card other than add a sentiment. I used the All About Wishes Word Die set, die cutting the top layer from glossy black cardstock, the bottom from vellum, and adhering them together. I. then popped them up on foam onto the panel and finished with a few black enamel dots. Don’t you love the way it catches the light?!

I used this same embossing folder again, this time with Moonrock cardstock, which I splattered with Sea Glass Metallic Shimmer Spray. In the centre, I mounted three trees, die cut from the Tree Mix Die set, a fun mix and match set, that allows you to incorporate different branches and different tree shapes. I used the same tree shape and changed up. the branches using pale pink, teal and yellow cardstocks, then popped them up on foam tape.

Once again, my sentiment is from the All About Wishes Word die set, cut from holo cardstock and popped up on top with liquid glue. I finished with a few coordinating enamel dots from my stash.

My next card features the Note For You Stamp and Die set. This is such a sweet little set, I just had to make a lacy little notecard! I die cut several of the lacy border from Lavender Fields cardstock, then adhered them to a small square note card with glue, lifting the edge of each with my bone folder to create fluffed up ‘lace’. I then heat embossed the ‘Good Luck’ in Rose Gold embossing powder on the same color cardstock and die cut out, before carefully mounting onto the centre with lots of liquid glue to ensure it stayed in place.

That cute little. envelope was also created with that same die set – I just love that fun flap border! I stamped the lacy border stamp in ombre purple (from the Shades of Purple Crisp Ink Set) and added a sentiment in Obsidian Black ink. I added a little gold gel pen highlight by hand to finish!

My final card features the Christmas Season die set. This is great for pairing with your seasonal stamps like I’ve done here. with the Dry Brush Poinsettia from a prior release. I stamped the flower with Blush, Rouge and Crimson inks, and the leaves in Lagoon and Mountain Mist, then die cut them out with the coordinating dies.

I splattered a white cardstock panel with Lagoon Metallic Shimmer Spray and mounted flower. I then die cut out the Christmas Season die set with gold mirror cardstock, and layered it onto white cardstock, then layered over the flower with glue.
