Hi there! Are you ready for a new Gina K Designs release? I know I am! The September release is LIVE and gorgeous! I have a card to share today that features the brand new Grateful Blooms stamp set, designed by the super-talented Arjita Singh.
These florals are just gorgeous aren’t they? I created my card by heat embossing the largest image onto cold press watercolor cardstock (I used Golden Peach embossing powder from Altenew). I then watercolored the image, dropping in clear water and adding a pale color, then adding a deeper color in the ‘crease’ where the petals meet (or the leaf and petals meet) and letting it blend out naturally.
When the initial layer dried, I went back with a water-soluble Stabilo 88 fine liner marker in a coordinating (but darker) color and added darker contrast in the folds again, and on the outer portions of the petal to look like folds, pulling out slightly with a waterbrush. When done, I outlined the entire floral bouquet with a navy fineliner, and then used a Zig Clean Color Real Brush Marker in ‘Peacock’ to outline in sections, blending out towards the edge of the cardstock with my waterbrush.
I added lots of water splatters, and a spritz of white ink spray when dry, then die cut out the panel with a rectangle die, making sure to only partially die cut out at the outer edges, instead fussy cutting around the wider leaves for a little interest. I popped it up on a note card with fun foam, and white heat embossed the sentiment from the set for my greeting. I. added a few subtle clear crystals to finish.
Be sure to check out the rest of the release – I’m excited to see all of the talented designers share their inspiration tonight too!
