Hello everyone!
Today I’m sharing two cards that I created using the new Slimline Collection from Spellbinders. My cards both feature the new Classic Slimline etched dies, which are super intricate and create a beautiful and elegant look.

I decided to create my cards using super bright cardstock colors with a bit of a 60s vibe for fun. The technique to create them was very similar, with just a couple of tweaks. On my first card, I used a pale green for the main die outline, and then adhered it over a dark hot pink base, cut with just the outline die using Bearly Art glue (this rivals my long time favorite Art Glitter Glue, and comes with a better tip that has a longer pin to prevent clogging).

I then die cut gold mirror cardstock and aqua cardstock with the detailed die again, piecing some. of the parts into the layered die cut panel. I also used the sentiment outline die and die cut the same aqua cardstock to create a focal panel. My sentiment is from the new Essential Sentiments Clear stamp from the Slimline Collection, which I heat embossed in gold, then mounted the strip with foam tape onto the centre of the slimline panel.

I actually created a shaped card by folding a sheet of sturdy white cardstock in half, then laying the outline slimline die over the crease, overhanging approximately half a centimeter. I ran it through my Platinum 6 and this creates a shaped, folded card! I adhered my inlaid die cut panel over the top, lining up the edges carefull. To embellish, I strategically placed some of Spellbinders new Crystal Mix Color Essentials gems – these are so pretty in real life. can you see the close up detail above!?

For my second card, I used hot purple for my detailed outline layer, overlaid on green-blue cardstock. I also die cut the detailed outline layer again with gold mirror cardstock, adhering it slightly offset over the purple to let it peep through. For the sentiment, I used the dies in the Slimline Colletion, die cutting the base layer from purple and the outline from gold mirror and adhering them together, which I mounted to the centre with foam tape. I added sub-sentiment from the Essential Sentiments set heat embossed in gold.

You’ll see. on this card I inlaid some purple in a few places, using the same technique as on. the earlier card, and I also added two additional gold mirror die cuts top and bottom for a different look (these dies are also included in the die set). I created a shaped card base as before and adhered my card panel over the top. To embellish it, I used the new Gold Mirror Color Essentials crystals.
