Hi Everyone!

You might remember from this post that I made tons of cards with the new Fresh Start release from Altenew. Well, today I’m back to share three more of these cards, this time that feature metallics as the focal point.

My first card features the largest of the stamps from the Versatile Vases 2 stamp set. I heat embossed it in Translucent Pearl embossing powder onto Jet Black cardstock. I also heat embossed a sentiment from the set underneath in Pure White.

I used the masking stencils to cover over the the vase, then using a mini ink blending foam, with Antique Gold and Enchanted Gold ink, I gently blended ink outwards all the way around the edge. I also created a bokeh type effect by pushing down the foam pad and twisting slightly. I added to it with mini ink daubers, which create a smaller circle, overlapping the circles several times to get that ‘out of focus lights’ look again. I stopped near the base of the vase (to create the effect of the jar resting on a surface like a table) then removed the mask.

I almost left the vase empty, but decided to stamp a flower from the Engraved Flowers set, stamped in Antique Gold, heat embossed with Translucent Pearl and die cut out.

I mounted the flower over a little messy nest of Altenew Gold metallic thread using foam tape then mounted to a white notecard leaving a very slim border.

My next card uses dry embossing on gold mirror cardstock to create a gorgeous embellishment. I used the new Swirl Motif embossing folder, which is just stunnning when used on shiny mirror cardstock.

I adhered it with foam tape behind a 4 x 4 panel of white cardstock die cut with Altenew’s Mid Century Frame. I had stamped the sentiment from the Versatile Vases 2 set on the bottom in Obsidian Black ink first. I then mounted the entire piece onto a 4.5 x 4.5 square notecard.

My final card features gold old heat embossing, but this time I’ve created both a slimline shape, and added a fun pop of color to contrast.

On a panel of Jet Black cardstock trimmed to 8.5″ x 7″, scored in half, I heat embossed the florals from the Vintage Garden set over the entire panel, using Antique Silver embossing powder.

To add the pop color, I stamped the banner from the Block Sentiments set using Coral Berry Mixed Media ink. I then die cut it with the coordinating die and mounted it on foam tape to the top of the panel.

As a finishing touch, I had some sequins from my stash that coordinated with the Coral Berry and I added a couple to the panel, to carry that color pop throughout.

I love how these all turned out, I hope you do too, and it gave some fun ideas for using metallics!

Have a great day and stay safe.

Jenny
