Hi everyone! It’s time for the Spellbinders Glimmer of the Month release and this one is perfect for creating beautiful foiled Christmas cards.
The main plate creates a fabulous array of Christmas ornaments, and includes the coordinating edge die to perfectly cut them out. I glimmered mine in Speckled Prism Glimmer Hot Foil – a beautiful holographic silver speckled foil that looks awesome against FSJ’s Watermelon cardstock!
I die cut out the foiled piece with the coordinating edge die and then trimmed it out to be the width of an A2 sized card (4.25″). I also grabbed some FSJ Black Licorice cardstock and die cut that with the edge die again (no glimmering this time). I trimmed it out in the same way and adhered it to the back of the Watermelon piece, slightly offset to create a shadow.
I lined up the die cut piece against an A2 size panel of white Letterpress cotton cardstock and while holding it temporarily in place, I adhered the ‘Christmas’ plate to the white panel at the right place. I slid the same glimmer foil underneath the plate and foiled again. It’s hard to see in the picture but it’s very clear in real life – foil is so hard to photograph!
I mounted the die cut panel with foam tape over the white piece to create dimension then mounted the entire piece onto a white notecard.
To finish, I glimmered the small sentiment from the set in Matte Silver Glimmer foil onto Black Licorice cardstock then die cut it out with a small rectangle die from an earlier Glimmer of the Month with I popped up with foam squares.
I decided to leave the card clean and simple – this could be great to mass produce for Christmas cards in different colors!
