Hi Everyone!
I am so thrilled to be joining Gina K Designs as a Guest Designer for her August release. I will have a few cards to share over the month that I created with the release. This release is wonderful, and full of inspiration, encouragement and positivity to help deal with trying times!
My first card features the amazing unique Positive Thoughts stamp set illustrated by Hannah Schroepfer Drapinski. The sentiments on this set are just wonderful. So positive and uplifting. I chose the ‘Let go of what you cannot control‘ sentiment which is just perfect for literally anyone to receive right now!
I stamped the image in Gina K Obsidian Amalgam ink onto Arches Cold Press watercolor cardstock. I then colored it in with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I did add blush to the cheeks and added a very faint indication of nose and mouth without actually drawing them in. I went for blues and pinks and purples in the florals. I did pull out the ink with a waterbrush for a watercolor look. I went back over the lines with a Copic black 0.05 marker to bolden them, and added a few eyelashes as well.
I decided to fully darker the outside by using a dark blue Copic to completely color the background. When dry, I heat embossed the sentiment in white across the bottom and then added some white acrylic paint splatters. As a finishing touch, I added some sparkle to the flower centres and to her ears as little stud earrings with Gina K Sparkling Crystal drops.
My next card features Delightful Thoughts designed by Arjita Sepaha Singh and I just adored the designs. I’ve made cards featuring both images but just sharing one right now – stay tuned for the other!
I created the card with watercolors using pan watercolors from Altenew. I stamped it with Gina K Amalgam ink in Warm Glow for no line watercoloring, and then colored it using my watercolors, building up the colors with layers.
I went around the edge of the image with gray to add some shadow, and then also added a watercolored background with colors very heavily watered down, as well as a few splatters for a sketchy look. To add a little. more depth I used my Stabilo Point 88 Fineliner pens which can be moved with water a little.
When dry, I added a sentiment directly over the top stamped in Obsidian ink and a few clear drops before mounting onto a card base with craft foam for dimension.
I’m looking forward to seeing what others create with these sets, they’re giant and just wonderful for coloring – great relaxation!
Jenny
