Did you manage to catch the Gina K Designs new release last night? So many lovely new products – and lucky ol’ me was thrilled to get one of the sets to play with a little early, and here’s the two cards I’ve created.

The set is the Embroidered Flowers stamp set. It’s such a genius set, particularly for those of us who like a little bit of stitching on our cards but cannot embroider for toffee (cross stitch is about as far as I go). It lets you build up a floral bouquet that looks like you hand stitched it – even with the little needle and thread to give an illusion of ‘not quite finished stitching yet’. SO. COOL.

To create my first card, I let loose with my stamping, and just grabbed a bunch of ink colors I thought would look pretty together. I did a little bit of masking of the main pink flowers, to enable some smaller florals to slot behind. You might also see, I did a couple of different pink inks on those flowers, to look a little like graduated thread.

I added some faux french knots in the corners to ground the piece, and stamped the fun stitched sentiment directly over the top. A few drops of Nuvo Glitter Drops in Yellow Bird for subtle co-ordinating sparkle completed the card. Isn’t that needle and thread effect fun!?

For my next piece, I . built up a bouquet as I did before, but this time, I spritzed the stamps on my MISTI with water before stamping onto watercolor cardstock. I did two different ink colors on each stamp. The water blends the colors on the stamp, and gives a faux watercolor look on the cardstock. This effect does blur out the stitches, but I wanted to show you how this stamp set is super versatile!

When I finished stamping (and adding a few pale brown splatters for good measure), I stamped this beautiful sentiment from the Gina K Designs Scripty Encouragement stamp set in Obsidian Amalgam ink and scattered a few clear drops to finish.

I love the versatility of this set – I’m definitely excited to try it with heat embossing on a dark background next to see if mimics metallic embroidery! So many things you can do. Be sure to grab the new release before it’s all snapped up!

Thank you to Gina K Designs for letting me play early with this beautiful set!!
