Hi Everyone!
I hope you all had a fun weekend – it was my birthday last week and my husband sprang a surprise get-together on Saturday and the weather was beautiful so we were able to sit outside on the deck!
For my card today, I am using the Take Courage stamp set and the Words from the Wizard background stamp – along with Queen for a Day which is one of the latest ink colors (and my favorite) from CPD.
To create my card, I first heat embossed the Words from the Wizard stamp onto a panel of Tim Holtz Distress watercolor cardstock, using WOW! ink and WOW! Bright White Opaque embossing powder.
I then smushed my ink onto a craft mat, spritzed it, and the cardstock with water, and then using a flat brush, swept the QFAD ink over the panel in horizontal stripes. I let it dry and then repeated it. Once dry, I stamped the main Ginkgo image directly over the centre in QFAD ink over the top. You can see the difference in intensity between the watercolored ink and the ‘full strength’ stamped ink.
I then took the co-ordinating die and die cut out the ginkgo image from the watercolored cardstock, and again from purple self adhesive craft foam. I adhered the two together with liquid adhesive. I scored an A2 card card made from 110lb Neenah Solar White cardstock and adhered the die cut panel to the card base, then inlaid the craft foam die cut piece into the centre.
I kept this card simple without additional embellishment – it looks clean and simple, but actually this is made up of multiple layers – watercolor, heat embossing, stamping and fun foam!
Have a great week!
