Hi Everyone,
I have a super simple card for you today for the current Timeout Challenge “Retro”. I have been hoarding this beautiful patterned paper from a Hero Arts kit for over a year – it’s handmade and beautiful in real life. When I saw the current challenge theme, I just had to use it. Doesn’t it remind you of 70s wallpaper?!
To create my card, I trimmed down a panel of the paper and adhered it to a dark panel of cardstock to thicken it up. I then added it a notecard with craft foam. I wanted the paper to be the star of the show and avoid covering it up as much as possible so I kept my sentiment small.
The sentiment is from The Ink Road Stamps ‘As You Wish’ which in itself is retro (from The Princess Bride, one of my all time favorite movies). I stamped it in embossing ink on white cardstock and heat embossed in WOW! Primary Red Apple embossing powder. I went over the cardstock with Twilight ink by Catherine Pooler which is a light grey ink to get a color combo that complemented the patterned paper. I then matted it with gold mirror cardstock.
I was originally going to leave it as that but then as a last thought, added the filigree corners (also from last year’s Hero Arts kit) die cut from the same gold mirror cardstock and adhered them into opposing corners and called it done.

That paper is GORGEOUS, and very retro. It reminds me of the wallpaper I had in my room when I was a teenager. I LOVE the card. Love that little sentiment piece, and then sentiment itself is worth the whole stamp set Fantastic!.
