Hi Everyone!

I have a video today showing you how to create a faux brushed metal look with Nuvo Embellishment Mousse.  I don’t know about you, but I’ve had some of this for ages, but rarely get it out – today I decided I wanted to have a play!  I am using it with dry embossing and the February 2019 Simon Says Stamp Card kit.

I created a video showing you how I made this card.  You can see it here or over on my YouTube channel.

To create my card I first used Nuvo Embellishment mousse in Burnished Bronze with a Nuvo brush and brushed back and forth in straight lines about halfway down a panel of 110lb white cardstock.  The back and forth brushing with these stiff wired brushes really does look like brushed metal when dry.

I then used French Rose mousse and brushed from halfway up on the other end and went over the Bronze in the centre, using brush to blend.  I let it dry for a few minutes and then dry embossed it with the Tim Holtz Botanical 3D Texture Fade. To emphasise the dry embossed images, I went over the tops of the embossing with Nuvo Pure Platinum mousse with my finger (and you can also use a small blender).

I stamped the roses from the Love Always stamp set by Simon Says Stamp (also included in the February 2019 card kit) in Inkon3 Hybrid black ink and colored with my Copics.  The colors I used are listed below in the supplies.  For a little sparkle I added some Nuvo Glitter marker in the centres in Strawberry Bon Bon.  I then fussy cut it out, outlined it with a black Memento marker and popped it up on foam squares on the lower third of the panel.

The sentiment is also from the same Simon set, and was heat embossed in WOW! Silver EP on black cardstock, trimmed out and popped up on foam squares.  As a finishing touch I added some Plum Crazy sequins by Honey Bee stamps!

Love this technique – hope you’ll give it a go!
