Hi Everyone!

I’m stopping by with some exciting news – today, November 1st, Fun Stampers Journey and Spellbinders are coming together!! Woop woop! To celebrate, I’ve created a fun thanksgiving card with some of the new stamps, dies and embellishments!

Some fun facts before I get to the card!

  • FSJ stamps are made in the USA of deeply etched red rubber for a perfect impression every time.
  • Their thin metal dies are made of steel to give you clean cuts time and time again, without warping or dulling. And, they’re coated in FSJ green so they’re easy to find!
  • They offer over 50 exclusive colors – matching cardstock, ink, ribbon and accessories makes creating easy!
  • Over 50% of their stamps have coordinating dies – no more fussy cutting!

Having had a play to create this card, I can attest to the great stamping and dies – you’re gonna love them, be sure to head over to see the new collection. I’ve linked it above (just click on the graphic) and the supplies I used are linked at the end of this post.

To create my card I first created the background.  I ink blended Distress inks in Squeezed Lemonade, Dried Marigold and Ripe Persimmon over Bristol Smooth cardstock, blending the SL first and fading it out towards the top of my cardstock, then the DM, blending about halfway up (and going back over where they join with the SL for seamless blend) then RP along the bottom (and repeating with the DM again as before). I flicked some water over the top and then die cut the panel with a Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics B die (the largest) and set aside.

I stamped one of the turkeys from FSJ Turkey Party in Versafine Clair Pinecone ink onto Bristol Smooth and colored him in with Zig markers, blending out with a waterbrush. I then die cut him out with the co-ordinating die.  I embellished him with gel pens and for his eye I added a dot of Ranger white enamel accents and a teeny dot of black enamel accents.  I love doing this for critter eyes – especially funny images like this one!

I stamped the sentiment from the same set in Midnight ink by Catherine Pooler and die cut it out.

To put my card together, I laid out the pieces on the ink blended panel where they were going to be adhered, and then stamped the ‘Gobble’ sentiment three times in the Versafine Clair Pinecone ink directly onto the panel.  The stamps have the images printed on them so you can see exactly where you’re stamping which made this really easy.  I then adhered the turkey with a layer of foam squares, and the sentiment with a double layer.  To embellish I added some gold gemstones from the new FSJ Holiday Sparkles Gemstones embellishments.

Hope you like it – be sure to go check out the rest of the new collection !
