It’s almost time for the new All The Trimmings release from Catherine Pooler Designs – coming to everyone on October 17th, and Stampnation today! To celebrate, there is a Blog Hop going on, with some of the Creative Team showcasing the new goodies. I’m not part of the Blog Hop but I couldn’t resist posting a couple of cards anyway!
First up, and the first card I made with this release, is this card I created used the new Peace, Love and Doves background stamp. This is such a gorgeous stamp, I wanted it to take complete centre stage. I heat embossed the stamp with gold embossing powder onto Premium White cardstock, and colored it in with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers (blending them together on the cardstock, without water).
The sentiment is the Merry Christmas die from the recent Home for the Holidays Stamp of Approval Collection, die cut from gold foil cardstock and CPD Vellum, then adhered with liquid glue to the centre. The vellum works great here to avoid covering the background image, but giving enough opacity to enable the sentiment to stand out!
My next card uses the striped paper from the new release Love, Doves and Poinsettias patterned paper. I heat embossed the GORGEOUS Flourish Background stamp directly onto the paper and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I then applied Catherine Pooler Eucalyptus ink directly to the paper (taking the pad and swiping it over the paper itself) to create an emboss resist. I wiped off the ink from the heat embossed areas and Voila! You get the cool effect you see above, where the pattern is ‘trapped’ by the heat embossing.
I trimmed out some of the poinsettias from the patterned paper and popped them up with liquid adhesive and foam squares on a white frame I created with two of the nesting dies from the Nesting Label dies set in the new release. I popped the frame up on the patterned panel with foam tape and adhered to a white card base. For my sentiment, I stamped the Happy Holidays from the Santa Approved set in Eucalyptus ink, die cut it out with the co-ordinating die and popped it up on foam tape. Some sparkling clear confetti finished the card!
I can’t wait for you all to get your hands on this release – my jaw hit the floor when it landed in my hands and yours is going to as well!!
