Hi Everyone,

There is still time to play along with our current Timeout Challenge and be in with a chance to win $15 to spend with our kind sponsors STAMPlorations.  There were so many possibilities for this week’s card but I chose to focus on a floral card with a Friend sentiment.

I chose the wonderful In Bloom: Darling Dog Roses from STAMPlorations and heat embossed it twice in white embossing powder towards the bottom of a panel of Canson XL watercolor paper, which I had die cut with a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle die.  I rotated the image for the second stamping.

I used Distress Inks in Picked Raspberry, Abandoned Coral, Peacock Feathers, Wilted Violet, Cracked Pistachio, and Squeezed Lemonade and blended each color over the heat embossed image, slightly overlapping to create new colors. Be careful on which colors you choose to have next to each other – some blend together and create brown (e.g. purple and green) so you want to avoid overlapping them as much as possible.

I then smushed each of the colors onto a craft mat, and used a waterbrush to pick up the inks and loosely color in the images in some places.  I dried it with a heat tool, then flicked some of the colors over the top also and dried it.

The sentiment is also by STAMPlorations and is from Fond Expressions 2.  I stamped it in Versafine Onyx Black ink and then scattered some Pretty Pink Posh sequins in 4mm and 6mm Sparkling Clear.  They were adhered with Art Glitter Glue (Clear) which is now my most favourite liquid adhesive.  I adhered the panel to a card base made from white woodgrain cardstock using foam tape.

That’s it, I hope you like it! – be sure to head over to Timeout Challenges to play along.  We are joined this week by Guest Designer Kristina who has created some wonderful inspiration for you too along with the rest of the Design Team!

Have a wonderful day!

Jenny
