Hi Everyone
Just popping by to remind you that there is still time to play along with Challenge #73 over at Time Out Challenges. This week is our Inspired By Words week and with 2017 just around the corner, we have chosen the phrase:
‘With each sunrise we are given a chance for a new beginning’
The DT have come up with some great inspiration and we are also joined by a wonderful Guest Designer Marina, so be sure to go check out her blog.
We have some great prizes up for grabs this week, kindly sponsored by STAMPlorations, including $20 gift voucher for the winner and two honorable mentions that will win $10 vouchers each!
For my card this week, I am using STAMPlorations stampset ‘Houses‘ – the images are all super cute but I wanted to choose the smallest for this one, as I think it gives a greater sense of open space on the card. I was going for a calm, peaceful but uplifting card:
For my card, I stamped the house using Versafine Onyx black ink and my MISTI onto Arches cold press watercolor paper. I then masked it off and the ground below, using Inkadinkado stamping masking paper. I then wet the background above the mask and added yellow, orange and peachy pink Daniel Smith paints to create a sunrise. One dried, I removed the mask and added some colour to the house (and a bit of smoke with a white gel pen).
For the sentiment I used the Good Thinking: Renewal set by Power Poppy, triple stamped using my MISTI and Versafine Onyx Black.
I die cut the piece out using Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles, and adhered it using double sided tape to a white card base. As a finishing touch I added Stickles along the ‘snow’ ground and on the window plinths. I also added glossy accents to the cool windows.
We do hope you’ll join in with this challenge – 2017 is just around the corner – time to refresh 😀

This is a stunning sunrise, so realistic, and perfectly blended. I love your tiny touched of detail….the smoke and the line of snow, wonderful touches that make the card a pure delight x
I love this beautiful soft background. It is perfection against the soft inked background.
Your soft sky is beautiful and great color choices for an uplifting card! Well done!
Love that sentiment with this wonderful peaceful scene, Jenny … the detailing if fabulous! Hugs, Anita 🙂
Beautiful water colouring Jenny – and such a great design – I love the open space you created. That sentiment is absolutely fabulous – I don't know Poppy Power Stamps but will definitely be checking them out now 🙂 Happy New Year! Jill
I love everything about this Jenny. Your watercoloing gets better all of the time, and this image combined with that fantastic sentiment is awesome. xx
I just love the open space with the beautiful sunrise colours! It looks so fresh and the sentiment is so super with it! Happy New Year and make 2017 a good one!
What a sweet card. Love your pretty colored background and that adorable little house.
