Hi everyone
We hope you joined the 2nd Birthday Blog Hop Bash at the AAA Cards Challenge and had fun – we did!! As it’s Sunday, we’ve got a brand new challenge for you! Watercolor!!! Probably one of the hottest ‘trends’ (I’m loathe to call it that, I think it’s here to stay) in card making and we would love to see what you come up with!!
This week there is $20 to spend for the winner courtesy of our sponsors at Happy Little Stampers !!
For my card this week I used the Striped Florals stamp set from Altenew and stamped some of the images on Arches Cold Press watercolor paper using my MISTI using Versafine Onyx Black ink which is waterproof. (Watercolor paper is notoriously hard to get a crisp impression the first time so the MISTI is invaluable).
I then used some of my Daniel Smith watercolors in greens and a touch of pink to color around the florals. I did a couple of layers to get a more splotchy look, letting it dry naturally in between each layer.
I cut the panel out using Simon Says Stamp’s Stitched Rectangles, popped it up on Neenah Solar White 110lb card base using foam tape. To finish I covered all of the striped florals in Glossy Accents and added a sentiment sticker.
We do hope you’ll join us over at AAA Cards!!!
Have a great weekend!
Jenny
This is lovely, Jenny. You did beautiful work.
This is stunning Jenny! I love the mix of colours. xx
Your card stopped me in my scrolling tracks! Delightful.
Jenny, this is so gorgeous. Great idea to leave the images uncolored. Love the splotchy look and that bit of pink is perfect. Love that tiny sentiment placed over the edge.
You seem to love the same Altenew sets as me Jenny and I'm loving how you've worked this one. So serene and sophisticated and love how the background is coloured but not the images. x
Love these soft colors with the black images, Jenny!
Fabulous! I'm totally smitten by how beautiful the colours look outlining your flower stamp – what a super idea.
Really pretty striped images which stand out beautifully on your background.
