Hi Everyone!

It’s release day for the new Unsinkable Collection from Catherine Pooler Designs! To celebrate the team are having a blog hop and as always there are prizes to be won for hopping along and commenting! More details, links to the new release in Catherine’s store and the full hop list can be found at the end of this post.

I have two cards to share today, both of which take inspiration from the trendy Green Tea accented blue shades in all of the graphics and patterned paper in the new collection.

I really like how this first card turned out – I used the underwater florals and seaweed to make a more traditional layered flower scene. I first took the new Shell Parade stencil and laid it over an A3 panel of CPD Premium White cardstock. I used Green Tea ink and a blender brush and blended it heavily in the centre and faded out towards the edges. I then added a little Sage ink in places. For a touch of shimmer I added some Gold Nuvo Aqua Shimmer pen (in Midas Touch) splattered over the panel. I then adhered it to a white notecard.

I stamped lots of the seaweed and leaf/floral images from the new Refuse to Sink stamp set in Seafoam, Green Tea, and Skylight inks, then die cut them with the co-ordinating dies. My sentiment is from the Hook Line and Sinker set (stamped in Green Tea) and die cut it with the co-ordinating die. I also die cut the banner image from the Refuse to Sink dies from gold mirror cardstock.

I arranged all of the pieces onto my card panel, using foam tape for dimension. I added some gold gel pen as accents and some Gold Luxe and Dragon Scales Dream Drops to finish. As I had used the new Salt and Seaweed patterned paper as inspiration, I used the CPD Envelope Liner die to die cut some of the seaweed paper and added it to the inside of a Ultra White CPD envelope to match.

My second card features the teeeeny tiny anchor from the Refuse to Sink stamp set. I used a pencil and a T-ruler to draw even vertical lines as a guide. I stamped the tiny anchor using a small acrylic block to create a background pattern.

The colors I used were Juniper Mist, Suede Shoes and It’s a Boy. I also heat embossed some with WOW! Embossing ink and Metallic Silver embossing powder. I then trimmed down the panel and adhered it to a white notecard.

I created some Juniper Mist cardstock by swiping the ink pad over the white cardstock. When dry, I die cut it with the second smallest die from the Fitted Frames dies. I then stamped the sentiment from Refuse to Sink in embossing ink and heat embossed in WOW! Opaque Bright White embossing powder. I then popped it up on foam tape to the centre. To add a little sparkle, I added some of the new Big Sur sequins. This card kinda reminds me of Newport Beach and yachting preppie clothes don’t you think!

So onto the giveaway – there is a $25 GC up for grabs to spend in Catherine’s store. Be sure to comment on all the stops on the hop to be in with a chance to win. Winners will be announced on August 12th 2019 on Catherine’s blog.
