Hello there crafters!! Welcome to my stop on today’s Altenew August 2022 Marvelous Monthly Series Blog Hop – we’re showcasing August’s brand new subscriptions and they are WOWZERS! I hope my projects continue to inspire you today as you hop through – you should have been sent my way by Soraya Maes but if you’re just finding this stop through my blog, you can start over at the beginning of the hop on the Altenew Card Blog!

I’m featuring three of the subscriptions today – my first is the Build-A-Garden: Daffodil Delight which features one of my favorite flowers to color – I used Artists Markers in Sunshine Valley and Set E to color mine in, stamping the main image in Permanent Black ink onto Copic X-Press It cardstock for perfect blending.

I fussy cut out the flowers to keep the outline very close to the edge, and overlaid it onto a frame that i created using two of the Nesting Slim Rectangles dies and yellow cardstock. I adhered this with foam tape strips onto a custom made notecard and added a few splatters of Warm Sunshine Metallic Shimmer Ink Spray.

For the sentiment, I used the All About You Word die cut from Gold Mirror Cardstock and Vellum adhered together, and added a white heat embossed super sentiment. I finished with a few Satin Gold Sequins.

For my next card, I’m featuring the Craft-A-Flower: Open Peony – but in a very different way! Not a peony to be seen! I wanted to show you the versatility of these Craft-A-Flower sets, and just loved the leaves in this die set.

I die cut several of the leaves from the die set in different shapes, then ink blended them Crisp Dye Inks in Olive, Marshland and Moss onto Moonrock cardstock. I then added lots of Antique Gold Metallic Ink Spray splatters.

For my cardbase, I dry embossed a panel of Moonrock cardstock using the Curving Leaves 3D Embossing Folder. I ink blended the base using the same colors as the leaves fading out towards the top. I then mounted the leaves on the top with foam tape, trimming off excesss.

The sentiment is from Bold Sentiments and was stamped in Obsidian Pigment ink and trimmed out. I finished with a few Satin Gold and green sequins and gems.

My final card today features the Craft Your Life Project Kit: Magnolia and Blooms. LOVE THIS KIT. Really gorgeous and super for creating shaped cards! I used the Stencil, Embossing Folder, Stamp and Die all on this card today!

I stamped the image in Grape Agate Crisp Dye Ink then ink blended using the stencils – I used Cloudy Sky, Yellow Ochre, Dark Night and Butternut. I then die cut the image out and placed it into the 3D Embossing Folder and dry embossed it. Doesn’t it look like it has so much depth!?

My card base is Spicy Yoghurt cardstock and I aligned the die cut in the bottom right corner to align where I wanted to stamp my sentiment. I stamped it in Dark Night, then adhered adhered down the die cut. Where cardstock peeped out, I trimmed it off to give a shaped card look and then adhered it to a white note card trimmed so that it also didn’t peep out.

I added a few Satin Gold sequins here and there to finish.

  4. Way to stand out using just the leaves in the peony set. Very nice. Who can’t use a great set of leaves?

  5. Your copic coloring of the Daffodils is just gorgeous. I love the scalloped edge on the card using the Craft your life project kit too. Very beautiful projects.

  6. Such amazing cards! Fabulous slimline with the stunning big blooms and then the sweet littles at the bottom. Your leaf card is my favorite because I make most of my cards for my husband who is an amazingly generous gift giver and seems to always be in need of cards to give to his coworkers. And that means NO flowers. But leaves are OK! I haven’t seen the embossing folder you used- it’s a must have! I love the way you colored this card.
