Hi all!! The new Altenew release is here!! Dreams Come True is a really fun release and there is tons to play with!! My post today is part of a blog hop that starts over at the Altenew Blog. Thank you to Bridget Casey for sending you my way!

Unfortunately due to a recent vacation, I couldn’t make my usual array of inspiration projects for the release today. But I did create this rainbow card inspired by the layout stamp packaging that came with the Educators Rule stamp set which is just awesome. I had such fun picking out a rainbow of colors of inks to create my pencils. For the pencil and erasers themselves i used the exact recommended ink colors in the packaging. For the pencils themselves, I simply chose my rainbow colors, then picked an ink slightly darker (or lighter) to act as the other coordinating shade in the pencil barrel. I then stamped away!! It was amazingly therapeutic to create these rainbow pencils!! The coordinating die is easy to use and you’re left with a perfect little pencil!

I also stamped the ‘teacher’ sentiment in Jet Black ink, and die cut it out with the coordinating die. For my background I used the Double Rainbow Stencil from an earlier release, and lightly ink blended it onto the background with Wisteria and Baby Pink Crisp Dye Ink, fading into the centre. I also added some Antique Gold Metallic Ink Spray splatters.

I arranged the pencils along the base of my card panel, using my craft mat to line them up – starting in the centre with the green pencil as the lowest point then aligning the yellow and blue either side, a little higher, and so on. I then snipped off the overhang, and flipped my card panel around, arranging the remaining parts of the pencils so that they formed the outline of a heart! To make this fit (and to avoid stamping more pencils which you totally could) I cut my panel down to 4 x 5.25″. I finished by stamping the sentiment in the centre in Obsidian Pigment ink and mounting the ‘teacher’ over the top of the pencils with foam tape. I then adhered the panel to a white notecard.

PS did you see the cute rainbow pencils I used in my backdrop? I got those for my daughter Ruby and she let me use some as props 🙂 They’re from Bossie Joscie!

  1. What a sweet and clever design Jenni! Love the heart contour framing the sentiment. Thanks for the inspiration!

  2. This is my first time to your blog. I will be back! (Did you just read that in Arnold Swarzeneggers terminator voice😜)seriously, I loved stopping into your blog.

  3. The teacher set is so cute but since i don’t have school aged kiddos, I’d have to use the pencils in a different way.
