Hi Everyone! I’m sharing tags today!! I don’t make many tags but I am always so glad when I have a few in my stash – they’re perfect for glamming up gifts and because they’re probably going to be hand delivered, you can make them mega three dimensional!! For my tags today I’m featuring Spellbinders new Inspired Basics Collection. The ‘Create A Decorative Tag’ die set has the tag shape, which I used for all three of my tags, as well as some intricate border details you can cut.

On my first tag, I cut a base layer tag shape from cream rustic cardstock. I then die cut the fringe shape from the die set several times, twice each from three shades of purple cardstock (I used Purple Mist, Lilac Blossom and Royal Amethyst. I adhered each of the fringes, starting at the top of the tag, with thin double sided tape, layering each subsequent fringe just under the first. When I got to the bottom, I didn’t trim the excess but left it overhanging. I got that fun ‘flick’ effect by gently rolling the ends of the fringe up over the barrel of a pen.

For the sentiment, I used the Celebrate You Glimmer Hot Foil plates, hot foiled in Lavender Petal Hot Foil onto a strip of the Royal Amethyst. I mounted it on top of the fringe with foam tape, then added a few Crystal Mix Color Essentials Gems to add some sparkle.

For my second card, I die cut the base tag from Lilac Blossom cardstock, and then a second tag from Purple Mist. On the second I also included all three of the intricate border dies in the set as I ran my tag through, lined up and secured with craft tape. I could then adhere the tags together with glue for a tone on tone look where the underlying cardstock peeped through. I foiled another sentiment in Lavender Petal using the same Glimmer sentiment set, off to the right. This left me enough room to add embellishment. The butterfly and leaves are from the Create A Flutter & Flower Bow from the Inspired Basics Collection. The butterfly was die cut from Royal Amethyst, and the leaves from rustic cream cardstock, which I then adhered with foam tape and added crystals for sparkle.

My final tag features a similar approach, but changes up the layering colors. For the base I used rustic cream overlaid with Royal Amethyst which I had die cut with one of the border dies. I also glimmered the sentiment from the Celebrate You set in Lavender Petal.

For the focal point, I die cut the bow from Purple Mist. This is super easy to create – just adhere the lower ribbon then curve each side of the bow itself (I used the barrel of a marker again) and secure in the centre with strong adhesive. This time, I used the flower from the die set, cut from Lilac Blossom. The centres are royal cream, wrapped with Royal Amethyst for the centre. I then slipped a couple of cream leaves in behind to keep my color combination. I finished with a crystal.

All of my tags were secured with a satin gray ribbon looped into the top. How fun are these? I LOVE that little bow – it’s amazing. So fun for tags, gifts and even cards (for hand delivery!).
