It’s time for the new Spellbinders April 2022 Club Kits!! I’m kicking things off with the Glimmer of the Month – I LOVE THIS! It’s going to be a staple in your stash for sure – it’s called Glimmer Burst, and it includes a radiating sun burst around a central focal point – you can foil it once or twice to cover an entire card panel. It also includes Glimmer plate sentiments that work perfectly with the sunburst theme, as well as circular dies.
I decided to only foil the burst once, using Aura hot foil which is just amazing – a gold holographic look which I just cannot do justice with photos – you have to see it in the light in real life. I used glossy white cardstock and offset the burst leaving a large margin down one side, with enough space to add the circular die in the same set.
I die cut more glossy cardstock using the circle die in the set, then used Black Glimmer Foil to foil the sentiment. Black foil is a great way to use those sentiment foil plates in a similar way to stamps so that you have a black outline. You’ll notice the underlying die is almost fully foiled – I used a solid plate (releasing NEXT month – this is just a sneaky peek!) to use up the Aura scrap of foil from the first foiling and then die cut it with the die included in the set.
I adhered the two die cuts together with foam tape and then popped onto the top of the foiled panel. I left it without embellishment because that Aura is so Brilliant in real life, and mounted it onto a top folding notecard.
I love how clean and simple this turned out to be – I could have added flowers, or embellishments but I really loved how classic and shimmery it was just on its own.
