Good evening crafty people! I hope you’re all staying well and for those of my fellow New Yorkers, enjoying the gorgeous weather bestowed upon us today (I worked, but it was nice to have the windows open!)
Today I have two cards to share with you that feature the new Spellbinders March 2022 Collection ‘Celebrate You’. This is a large collection with lots of great gifting and greeting cards goodies – I’m featuring the Celebrate You Glimmer Hot Foil Plates, and I’m pairing them with the Sentiment Labels dies. These pair beautifully with patterned paper for a quick easy card, or something a little more stepped up with the addition of floral dies.
For both of my cards, I glimmered the sentiments using Matte Gold Glimmer Hot Foil onto glossy white cardstock. I die cut them out using the inner banner die from the Sentiment Labels set. I die cut the lower layer from a scrap of watercolored card I had in my stash (created using purple and blue paints) and adhered them together with a strip of foam tape. I then also die cut the ‘string’ that slips through the sentiment from Gold Mirror cardstock. You can have these go straight across a portrait card, and if you cut it in half, (hiding it at the back of the sentiment panel) it will also go across a landscape card, just like I’ve done for mine!
As I said, I’m pairing patterned paper on both of my cards. These both come from a 6 x 6 pad that was included in one of Spellbinders’ card kits last year. For my first card, I chose this gorgeous mermaid scales look paper. The scales a holo foil, and there are printed splatters. The purple/blue colors paired perfectly with my watercolor tag. I simply trimmed it down, adhered it to a notecard, and popped the Sentiment Label on the top with foam tape. SO FAST!
For my second card, I’m stepping it up a little. I used a gorgeous white and gold foil polka dot paper from the same set, and trimmed it down adding to a notecard as before. I mounted the Sentiment Label over the top in the same way as before (being sure to secure the ‘ribbon’ from the label with the foam squares.
I then die cut several of the flowers and leaves in the Simply Perfect Layered Blooms die set from purple and blue textured cardstock, and gold mirror cardstock, arranging them around the Sentiment Label here and there. I also added a little chipboard heart from an older Spellbinders card kit. I adhered a few Crystal Mix Color Essentials Gems to finish with a touch of pretty sparkle.
This card took a little more time but I love how it turned out – those labels are a great fun twist on a basic sentiment strip, and you can really change them up with that background banner. Be sure to check out the rest of the collection asap for more inspiration!
