Woohoo it’s Craft-A-Flower reveal day!! I have a feeling you guys are going to like this one – the Sunburst Azalea! We’re hopping along to celebrate – you should have been sent my way by Cheryl Espie. If not, you can start over at the Altenew Card Blog, and check out all the giveaway details!
These beautiful blooms are so easy to make a gorgeous card with – wait til you see the other inspiration the rest of today’s designers came up with!! I created my card using patterned paper. The Alcohol Ink Backgrounds paper has colors in it that broadly resemble leaves and petals, so I thought I’d use that to create my flowers today.
If you’re careful where you plate your die, you can get dark, medium and light shades all from the same piece of 6 x 6 paper! I die cut the three layers for the florals from a sheet of the pink paper, adhering them together with liquid glue. For the flower stamens I used black for the background, and then dark pink glitter cardstock over the top. I then pieced the lower petal and centres with the layered petals.
I die cut the leaves from a green sheet of the patterned paper. I love the veined look that is dry embossed into them – I folded along the centre veins for a little more dimension.
My background is a pale blue A2 panel of cardstock, dry embossed with the Banana Leaves 3D Embossing Folder, then splattered with shimmer spray in Mountain Mist and Forest Glades. I then arranged my florals with foam tape into the centre and tucked the leaves behind. To finish, I heat embossed a sentiment in Pure White onto Jet Black cardstock.
