Hi everyone! I’m so excited, it’s an Altenew hop all about new stencils and embossing folders-woo!! My very faves – a great price point and so many techniques you can do with them. I have several projects to share with you today. If you didn’t land here from Erum’s blog, you can always start the hop over at Altenew’s blog. There is a fabulous giveaway too – stay tuned!

My first card features the new Greenwood Flowers layering stencil. These are wonderful for creating quick and pretty florals, and Altenew’s inks make it easy to choose colors for the layers. I decided to go with soft and pretty and chose the Martian Terrain range of inks for the flowers including the centers. I created two florals then fussy cut them out. I also created a few leaves using Nature Wonders inks and fussy cut those too.

My background is a panel of Spicy Yoghurt cardstock dry embossed with the new Dreamy Tiles 3D embossing folder, over which I ever so lightly ran the Pastel. Sunrise ink in a few places. I then arranged the florals over the top and adhered with foam tape. I also added some gold gel pen detail to the centers for interest.

For my sentiment, I created little banner flags from gold mirror cardstock using the Mantel Decor – Spring die set released last month. I backed them with cardstock inked with Pastel Sunrise to coordinate and then mounted then all onto the corner of my card. I finished with a few soft pretty sequins.

For my next card, I dry embossed the new Henna Square Background stencil using an embossing tan mat and running it through my die cutting machine with navy cardstock. It leaves a beautiful impression!

To give it more emphasis, I ran over it with Antique Gold and Enchanting Gold pigment inks. very lightly, to pick out the embossed raised parts. I also went around the edges of the panel. Before the ink dried, I added a little sprinkle here and there of Antique Gold embossing powder for a weathered look.

The sentiment I used was heat embossed in white on the same navy cardstock. It comes from the Folk Art stamp set. I mounted it with foam tape onto the front and finished with a few gold crystals. I love how versatile stencils are!

My next card features the Thunderstorm stencil and this card is super easy but gives a really pretty look. You can use this technique with any stencil. First, I inkblended some darker blue-gray inks over the stencil to create that dark thundery rain. Without moving it, I. then used clear iridescent glitter paste over the top. This lets the colors show through with sparkle over the top. Perfect for rain! I used Nimbus, Cloudy Sky and Dark Night inks.

I wanted a monochromatic look, so I stamped the Bouquet of Love image in Obsidian pigment ink, die cut it out and adhered over the top of my glitter panel, which I trimmed to 4 x 5.25″ and mounted with fun foam to a white notecard.

I used the ‘Miss You’ sentiment from the same stamp set, heat embossed in white embossing powder on Jet Black cardstock and punched out with a 1″ circle punch then mounted with a double foam square. I also added a few pale blue enamel dots to finish.

My final card features the Illusion Unique Twist stencil. I did some ink blending with pastel colored inks for this card, letting them to overlap to create new colors. I used Peach Delight, Rose. Quartz, Fresh Lemon and PolarBear. Before lifting the stencil I added one spritz of Antique Gold Metallic spray.

I added a sentiment from the recently released Carpe Diem stamp set heat embossed in white embossing powder on Jet Black. I thought this worked perfectly with the twist image!
