Hello Everyone!
It’s time for a new release from Gina K Designs – happy new year!! I’m excited to have had the opportunity to get a couple of the products before they hit the virtual shelves and have a few projects to share for .
My card today features the largest bloom from the I Admire You set illustrated by Hannah Drapinski. It’s gorgeous with lots of folds in it. I really wanted to no-line watercolor it, and so first stamped it onto Arches Cold Press watercolor cardstock with Gina K Designs Warm Glow Amalgam ink.
I used Daniel Smith watercolors (tube) in a variety of pinks and purples dropping in a light color at first and then building up the layers to deepen the contrast and add shadows where the folders of the petals and where the creases of the flower were. Using slightly different shades also helps to create the illusion of the natural varieties of color in a plant.
I stamped a sentiment from the set in black ink directly over the top. Gina has brought out a new die set – Master Layouts 4 – and I decided to use the heart outline to die cut the flower and then adhered the heart onto pale pink fun foam. I mounted the panel which I had trimmed to 4.25″ x 5.5″ to a white notecard with strong double sided adhesive and then mounted the heart into the centre. This gives a fun optical illusion of a heart outline in the flower, and from the side you can see the dimension.
To finish, I wanted to add a little shadow so used an N2 and N0 Copic marker around the edge ever so slightly. I then added some Gina K Sparkling Crystal Crystalline Drops to finish with a little sparkle!
All of the new release is available now! Enjoy!
