Hi Everyone! The new release from Gina K Designs is LIVE! I am so excited to be joining Gina as a Guest Designer again this month and I hope I’m able to inspire you this month!
Today I’m featuring Seasons of Joy. It has a wonderful giant floral in it that I couldn’t resist watercoloring. I stamped it down on hot press watercolor cardstock with Gina K Whisper Amalgam ink. I then gave it several. light washes in pinks and purple pan watercolors, with a few touches of brown for the centres. I trimmed it out and set it aside.
For the background of my card, I stamped the bloom again multiple times on watercolor cardstock in embossing ink, and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I also stamped and heat embossed the leaves several times in the same way. I then wet the entire panel and came in with some powdered watercolors (I used Nuvo), letting the embossing powder resist the paint.
After drying, I inked up the edges slightly with a blue gray. ink to deepen the panel, then popped the watercolored floral over the top of the panel over one of the heat embossed flowers. My sentiment was stamped directly onto panel in black ink, over the embossing. Where it resisted slightly, I just went in with a Copic Multiliner!
