Hi Everyone!
I’m thrilled to be joining Altenew today as part of their Mixed Media Inks Blog Hop celebrating the recent release of their Mixed Media Inks. You should have landed here from Nicole’s blog. The next stop, and the full list of the hops can be found later on in this post. And of course, there’s a giveaway!! Woop!
I created a video showing a comparison of the new inks stamping on a variety of surfaces alongside Altenew’s Crisp Dye Inks, as well as how I created this project, which is actually stamped on FELT!! You can check out the video here or over on my YouTube.
I LOVE THESE INKS! It opens up a whole new world for stamping. I used felt in my card project today, but I have stocked up on a stash of plain linen bags, napkins and a t-shirt to stamp on. You can heat set them and they stamp so beautifully! Here’s a look at the colors released.
For my project I used stiff cream felt from a local craft store along with the Frosted Garden stamp set – you can get it in a big stack and you can see how detailed the inks stamp onto it. The best thing is that I can then embellish with tiny cross stitches (or french knots if you can do those!) super easily!
I embellished using the Altenew Metallic Thread set and some co-ordinating DMC thread. Isn’t it super cute! I love how crisply these stamp, and how easy they are to use to get a clear outline. These inks are super different to the Crisp Dye inks and you can see how much so from the comparison in my video.
Alongside the release there are some fabulous offers to snap up on these new inks, and don’t forget to check out Demystifying Mixed Media by the wonderful Tania Ahmed!

This is beautiful inspiration and a wonderful idea to stamp on felt! Can’t wait to try this!! Thank you for making a video:)
I didn’t understand at first but I love the idea of felt as a place to put the stamp. THANK you for the video that puts the two inks up against each other so I can see the differences and make decisions. I kept hoping someone would do that.
Thanks for showing us how these inks compare to the crisp die inks on different surfaces! It was fascinating and enlightening. I love the stamping you did on felt with the little cross stitches added in for more texture. I think I may try my hand on creating a small felt pillow with these inks.
I love the softer look that shows up on the felt. A great project.
As always Jenny your work is absolutely exquisite 💖 hugs Jo
