Hi Everyone!

Spellbinders has a fabulous new release this month and I was lucky enough to get my hands on some of the release early, and I have been having lots of die cutting fun!

This week I had a video over on the Spellbinders YouTube channel featuring the new Warm Holiday Wishes Project Kit. You can now also check out the video on my YouTube channel or here.

My first card features the gorgeous Kaleidoscope Christmas Tree – I’ve used this as a tree, compete with tree topper, but you could also use it to create triangular patterns.

All three of my cards feature the gorgeous FSJ Brush Gold and Oatmeal Cookie cardstocks, with one other feature color. To keep this card classy, I used Black Licorice. Doesn’t this tree look fab agains the Whip Cream cardstock?

The border was created using the Nestabilities Essential Rectangles (not from the kit), backed with brush gold. I just LOVE these Rectangle dies, you can change up the color of the cardstock behind them (or don’t back it) to give a different look every time.

My card greeting is from the To You and Yours stamp set, stamped in FSJ Black Licorice, and i finished with a few flat adhesive pearls as tree ornaments!

My next card uses the genius Christmas Ornament Border dies. You can create a standalone die cut with this, a window, or an edge (bottom or top) border, depending on which dies you use. I die cut mine from Cranberry Bliss and Brush Gold and inlaid all the pieces – you can see the shortcuts I took in the video.

I backed the entire panel on foam adhesive onto Oatmeal Cookie cardstock, letting a little bit of the Whip Cream cardstock base peep out, and the sentiment was stamped in Black Licorice. Of course I added some pearls!

My final card features the Kaleidoscope Plaid dies and along with the Oatmeal Cookie and Brush Gold, I went for a non-traditional color of Watermelon Fusion which is a gorgeous hot pink color. I die cut each of the plaid dies three times, one from each color, and overlaid them to create the fun plaid rectangle.

I decided to stack them on a slimline Whip Cream card panel, cut to just under 8.5″ x 3.5″, backed onto a Watermelon Fusion base using thin strips of foam tape to add shadows and dimension. Once again, I used the To You and Yours sentiment stampset, heat embossing the sentiments in white embossing powder onto Black Licorice cardstock which I fussy cut out and adhered with foam adhesive. A few pearls finished it off.

You can really lay out these plaid dies in so many ways to get so many different effects, including. covering a full A2 card panel. This project kit is so. versatile, and while great for Christmas and Holiday cards, there are tons of other ways you can use the dies as well! Enjoy!
