Hi everyone! I hope you are all doing OK in this challenging time. Here in NY (Westchester) we are pretty much hunkered down – my husband and I are working from home, and I am running around with bleach wipes for light switches and door handles! With all of this, I’ve had time to do some coloring, and Marcella at Power Poppy has just released this digital download with a ‘handy’ bit of advice.
This digital stamp is available for instant download right now, and it’s super fun to color in. I printed it sized at 5 x 7 (A7) perfect for die cutting out with the Waffle Flower A7 Layers Dies. I printed it out with my Brother Black and White Laser Printer onto Bee Paper (140lb Cold Press 100% Cotton) and quickly dried it with a heat tool for a minute or so just to ensure no smearing.
I then had lots of fun coloring it in with bright watercolors. I used my Altenew Artist Pan Watercolors. When dry, I went back in and added detail and outlines with my Stabilo 88 point makers. These are super fine point and also watersoluable if you want to pull some of the color out with your paintbrush.
I added white gel pen and Clear Wink of Stella to the bubbles and a couple of the flowers for highlights. As a finishing touch, I used my Stickles Star Dust to add lots of fun sparkle to the letters and left to dry over night to get that sugar encrusted look. I then backed it onto a note card (10″ x 7″ scored at 5″) with double sided tape.
And here’s where it is now! Pride of place on the top of our downstairs toilet !
Stay safe and healthy everyone!
