WOW! Embossing | Layering Embossing Powders to Create Dimension

Hi Everyone!

I’m over on the WOW! Embossing blog today with two cards featuring layering embossing powders to create dimension – one card uses 3D layering dies, and one features layering stamps. There is a video accompanying the projects too, and on the WOW! blog there is more detail about how to create these cards.

For the 3D layering dies card, I used one of the awesome new WOW! Trios – Aquatini by Catherine Pooler. These are already toned or combo mixes of embossing powders/glitter that go great together. I used the Curacao and Splash from the trio for the contrast areas on my card.

I supplemented the trio as the Altenew Peony Dream dies I used requires five different colors, so I used Cloud 9 and Seaglass, and Sparkling Snow in the Centre. The background stamps and sentiment come from Altenew’s Beautiful Day.

For my next card I used layering stamps – I’m using Altenew’s Beautiful Day and just the three layers for the floral (not the outline). I used Oyster Glintz, Mayan Glintz and Metallic Copper which worked AMAZING together.

I finished the background in the same way, add a touch of Tattered Rose Distress Ink to the leaves using a layering stamp.
