Hi Everyone ,

I finally had a chance to create another card for the Altenew Educator Certification Program.  This time I used some of the techniques included in Irresistible Inking Techniques class, predominantly the direct to paper inking technique, and I couldn’t resist trying it with Altenew’s layering flower dies.

To create my card, I first inked up some white cardstock by taking my mini ink cubes direct to paper.  I was going to use the Altenew Rose Flurries 3D dies to create my flower, so I held each die up against the cardstock to get a rough idea of how big the inked area needed to be.  I used Grapevine, Ruby Red, Coral Berry and Frosty Pink for the main floral.  For the leaves I used Frayed Leaf and Forest Glades.  I then die cut the images and adhered them together with my Art Glitter Glue.

To create my back panel, I took a panel of cold press watercolor cardstock, trimmed down to 3.25″ by 4.75″.  I used a circular acrylic block and swiped three of the red shades of ink across it and then gentle spritzed with water. I then smushed it down onto the centre of the coldpress panel. I then lifted up and added a few spatters of the same ink with a waterbrush. I dried it with my heat tool, then added some edging by taking the Coral Berry ink pad directly to the edge of the cardstock.  I then  added the leaves and rose with liquid glue and foam squares.

I created some custom Coral Berry cardstock by swiping the ink pad directly around the edges of a panel of white cardstock trimmed to 5.5″ x 4″.  I then popped up my rose panel on the top with foam tape and added it to a white note card.

My sentiment is from the Altenew Sincere Greetings, stamped on Midnight black cardstock in embossing ink and heat embossed in WOW! Opaque Bright White embossing powder.  I then popped it on foam squares over the watercolored circle.  As a finishing touch I added some Nuvo Drops in Morning Dew and that completed my card!

So that includes direct to paper inking to create custom background panels, die cut shapes, and also to edge my cardstock, as well as indirectly inking onto an acyrlic block to create a backdrop for the focal image!

Hope you like it!
