Hi Everyone!

I’m back with another video today showing you how to create three cards that blend two of my favorite mediums – foil and watercolor.

You can see how I created these cards over on my YouTube or go here:

My first card uses Therm-o-web Decofoil Transfer Gel.  I applied it through a stencil (I used the Altenew Poppy Bloom) onto Tim Holtz watercolor paper and then foiled it when dry (I leave it over night) using my Minc and the gorgeous New Penny Rebekah Meier foil

I then spritzed the panel with water and dropped in Nuvo Shimmer Powder in Violet Brocade.  I moved the paint around a bit by tipping the panel, spritzing a little more, then left it to dry.   When dry, you can remove any excess paint on the foil with a damp baby wipe – the foil resists the paint!

When dry, I adhered it to a white card base with craft foam (which removes the warping).  My sentiment is the sugar script Friend die from Birchpress Design, cut from white cardstock and popped up on foam tape.  I coated it in Clear Wink of Stella and Nuvo Crystal Glaze.

The sentiment was stamped in Versamark on a Midnight black strip (die cut with the Simon Says Stamp sentiment labels dies – I am loving these) and heat embossed in WOW! White embossing powder. I popped it up on foam tape under the sentiment.

For my next card, I used Heidi Swapp Minc Reactive Mist.  I removed the nozzle and spattered the mist using the nozzle at random on a panel of watercolor cardstock,  Again I left it to dry overnight, and then foiled it with my favorite foil – Therm-o-Web Iridescent.  This stuff looks just like mercury and is so pretty in real life.

I then used Daniel Smith watercolors in Quinacridone Lilac and Amethyst Genuine and painted strips with a wet brush over the foil.  Again it resists and you can wipe off any excess with a baby wipe once it is dry.   I die cut the panel with a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle die and popped it up on a white card base with craft foam.

I recently got the Simon Says Stamp Outline Clustered Leaves die – the older version of this (the solid version) is one of my all time favorite dies so I had to grab this when it came out.  I die cut it from white cardstock and adhered it to my panel with liquid adhesive, snipping off any excess.

I used the Birchpress Design SugarScript Smile die, cut from Midnight cardstock and adhered direct to the front of the card with liquid glue for my sentiment, and scattered a few Honeybee Stamps Iris sequins to finish.

My final card uses the Everything’s Rosy digi stamp by Power Poppy printed in a laser printer and foiled with my Minc using the Rebekah Meier Vintage Tin foil.

I used my Peerless watercolors to color in the image, and then when dry, die cut it with a stitched rectangle die, and popped it up on craft foam to a white card base.

The sentiment is from the same Pinkfresh Studio set, stamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink directly onto the panel.

I had so much fun creating these cards – I hope you’ll give the watercolor resist look a try!
