Hi Everyone,
You guys know by now how obsessed I am with glitter paste – I was having a chat to a couple of my crafty friends Ashlea and Kelly throwing around ideas for new videos, and they suggested I make one showing how to create your own glitter paste – so and I’ve got a video today that just that!! I made six – count ’em – six – cards using this technique, so I hope you’ll stay tuned until the end to see how they turned out!
You can see the video on my YouTube channel or here:
All of my cards use Dreamweaver Translucent embossing paste. The translucent lets the glitter really shine through.
This card uses a Heart stencil from Alexandra Renke, and the embossing paste is mixed with Glass Slipper glitter by WOW!
I completed the card with an Altenew Engraved Flowers stamp, heat embossed in white and watercolored, the sentiment was stamped in Catherine Pooler ink in Eucalyptus and is from the same set.
My next card uses my favorite WOW! Glitter – Your Carriage Awaits, which is super chunky and still works perfectly for this technique. I used it with the My Favorite Things Moroccan Mosaic stencil.
I added a BirchPress Design Sugarscript die cut from gold mirror cardstock and backed with black craft foam. The sentiment is from Altenew Sewn With Love, and it was heat embossed with WOW! Gold Metallic onto Midnight black cardstock die cut with a Simon Says Stamp Nested Banner die.
My next card uses WOW! Glitter in Clarabelle along with the Simon Says Stamp Harvest stencil.
I framed it with several stacked layers of the My Favorite Things Stitched Rectangle Scallop Frames, die cut from Altenew Spicy Yogurt cardstock.
I added a fairy from the January Hero Arts My Monthly Hero card kit, which I colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. The sentiment is also from the set, heat embossed in white on grey cardstock.
I scattered some Studio Katia Iridescent Bubbles on the card, including onto her wand. I was sure to overlay her wand at the centre of the stencil so it looked like the magic coming from the wand! As a finishing touch I added some Nuvo Drops in Morning Dew and Clear Wink of Stella to her wings.
My next card colors the embossing paste along with adding glitter to create an ombre look. I colored the paste with Catherine Pooler Inks in Daydream, Skylight and Mint To Be, and added WOW! Bridal glitter.
I added Altenew Fine Rectangle Frames die cut from Silver glitter cardstock over the top. The floral stamp (Ink Road Stamps Bella Flora) was embossed in WOW! Cloud 9 embossing glitter and watercolored with Peerless watercolors, which I then fussy cut out. The sentiment is from Altenew Dearest Friend and was stamped in Daydream. As a finishing touch I added some Nuvo Jewel Drops in Periwinkle.
My next card uses embossing glitter scattered over the top of the embossing paste. For this card I used WOW! Seaglass embossing glitter with the Hero Arts Ornate Floral stencil. I added more of the Altenew Fine Frames over the top.
The florals are from Altenew Needlework Motif, heat embossed in white and then colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. I also added some Clear Wink of Stella on the yellow petals. The sentiment is from the same set, heat embossed in white. I scattered some drops by Honeybee Stamps over the top.
My final card uses WOW! Turkish Nights Embossing Glitter using the Rose Stencil by Catherine Pooler. The butterfly is the Dream Butterfly by Poppy Stamps die cut from Spicy Yoghurt cardstock twice.
I pieced together the hope sentiment using the Sunny Studio Loopy Letters dies and gold mirror cardstock. The sentiment is from Altenew heat embossed in white on a strip of Smoke and Mirrors cardstock.
And that finishes all of my cards! Please go check out the video for more details on how I created these cards! Supplies are all listed below – have a wonderful day!
