Hi Everyone!

I hope you are all having a good week so far – this weekend we managed to make it out of the house despite the freezing weather, even if only for a few minutes.  It was nice to feel the sun again!

Today I have a video featuring the Altenew pan watercolor set that was released a few months ago.  I’m using it with the Hello Gorgeous stamp set and the Bevelled Edge stencil, also by Altenew.  The card features a textured background created with white embossing paste and watercolors.

You can see how I created my card in this video over on my YouTube or here:

To start, I added some Dreamweaver white embossing paste onto a panel of Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor cardstock using a palette knife and the Bevelled Squares stencil.  I only added it roughly in the centre.  When it was dry, I used my water brush and added some Altenew watercolors in Cotton Candy, Citrus Burst and Purple Wine randomly, along with some spatters and left it to dry.

I stamped the main floral image onto another panel of watercolor cardstock in embossing ink and heat embossed in WOW! Opaque Bright White white embossing powder. I then watercolored it with the Altenew watercolors, using Cotton Candy in the areas for the shadows and Citrus Burst on the edges of the petals. I then blended the two together with my waterbrush to create a pretty peacy colour.  I repeated this for all of the petals and when dry, added a second layer using Purple Wine and Lemon Twist for more contrast.  I then fussy cut it out.

When my background panel was dry I adhered it to a white Neenah Solar White 110lb cardbase with Be Creative strong double sided adhesive (this cuts down on warping) and popped the floral up onto the panel with foam squares.   My sentiment is from the same stamp set and was heat embossed in the same WOW! white EP onto Midnight Black cardstock and trimmed out.  I popped it up on foam squares and foam strips.

As a finishing touch I added a few 6mm and 4mm Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear sequins and coated the petals with Clear Wink of Stella.

I was really please with how this turned out – I just love these watercolors and the effects you can get!
