Hi Everyone,
There’s still time to play along with us at Time Out Challenges – this week is our Home Sweet Home challenge and there is a gorgeous floral image to inspire you. I was inspired by the reds and oranges and yellows in the photo (and of course the florals) for my card.
To create my card, I first took a panel of cold press watercolor paper and flicked a small amount of powdered watercolor by Nuvo in Catherine Wheel. I then spritzed water and let the colors wick out. The Nuvo has small flecks of shimmer in it for a subtle sparkle.
I let the card dry, and then stamped the floral image from the No Rain set by Spellbinders in Versamark directly over the top and heat embossed with Simon Says Stamp Rose Gold. I sprinkled a little Lemoncello powdered watercolor by PaperArtsy and more of the Catherine Wheel onto my glass mat and painted the image with a waterbrush. You can get several different colors just just one color alone – for example, the Lemoncello has yellows, browns and oranges in it – so I was able to achieve many different shades as you can see here. I also flicked a little of the paint onto the background.
When dry, I added Limoncello Nuvo Jewel Drops to flower centres and berries, as well as around the image itself. I also added Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the banner for a little dimension.
For this challenge we are sponsored by Poppystamps, and there is $20 to spend with them for the winner so be sure to head on over to the challenge site to link up! We are joined this week by Guest Designer Angie and the Poppystamps Design Team!! Be sure to head on over and check out their blogs for more inspiration!
Have a wonderful week everyone!

This looks amazing! Love your use of watercolor powders, so artsy and with such vivid color results. I think I’ve never seen this stamp before it’s really pretty!
So gorgeous! I really love that sentiment and the way it’s on the banner – just a lovely soft creation, so classy!
Deliciously artsy, Jenny … the variations in colour in the background and in the floral are fabulous … there’s a lovely rich warmth about the whole design! Hugs, Anita 🙂
So pretty.. I really love that background! It looks like leaves faintly pressed into the watercolored in the background. Gorgeous.
This is gorgoeus Jenny, I love the colours you have used but not sure what you mean about the Catherine Wheel? Whatever it looks amazing.
