Hi Everyone!
It’s time for a new challenge at Time Out Challenges – and this time we have a Warm theme challenge. For my card I finally got to break out my Simon Says Stamp Burst background stamp that I’ve had for a while and not yet had a chance to ink up.
I first inked up the centre of the Burst background stamp (the centre removes) with Versamark embossing ink and stamped it onto Canson XL coldpress watercolor paper. I heat embossed it in white embossing powder and then watercolored it with Sakura Koi watercolors in yellows, pinks and reds, using water liberally, letting the colors blend.
I dry embossed a panel of Sand Dunes cardstock by Catherine Pooler (it’s a kraft cardstock) with a Sizzix 3D embossing folder with leaves. I gently rubbed some Nuvo Mousse in Indian Gold over the raised areas with my finger and then adhered it to a card base made from Lemon Chiffon cardstock by SSS.
I fussy cut out the sun and popped it up on the embossed panel with foam squares. To embellish, I added Honey Bee Stamps Unicorn Rhinestones and glossy accents. The sentiment is from one of the original CZ Design sets – Simple Sentiments No. 1 (now carried by SSS) heat embossed on black cardstock with white embossing powder, then popped up on cardstock.
I hope you like it! Be sure to pop over to Time Out Challenges and link up – there is a $25 gift voucher up for grabs courtesy of our sponsor CAS-ual Fridays Stamps. We are also joined this week by Guest Designer Marieke who has a super cute card to inspire you!
I hope you have an awesome day!

Just a beautiful card Jenny. I adore how the sun bursts of the page. And how these gorgeous colours blend. I do like your idea of using the gold in the dry embossing, I honestly thought you had stamped all this! Your way is much quicker,,,,,,and something I could cope with (I think!)
OMGosh this is so pretty! I love the colors and how you fussy cut the sun shape! Lovely card!
Warm, glowing and so gorgeous, Jenny … the texture is just gorgeous … a wonderfully rich design! Hugs, Anita 🙂
This is so very pretty, and really conveys the idea of warm. Love how that sun just pops and bursts off of the page.
