This release is so AWESOME! Not only are there all new goodies including fabulous patterned paper, a gorgeous twisted sunburst stencil and stamps and dies featuring stars (YEY!), the Love is in the Air Stamp of Approval collection is now available to purchase individually. Card 1
I’ve created a video for my first card which you can find over on my YouTube channel here. It uses the diagonal striped paper from the release to inspire my color combo!
Here are a couple of close up shots. I used the Starlights stamp and die set paired with Flirty Fuchsia and Grape Crush.
Card 2
My second card uses this same stamp and die set. This time I used the co-ordinating Starlight dies and die cut an A2 size panel of dark grey cardstock with four of the dies. I then laid the panel over a second A2 panel of the same color cardstock and put it in my MISTI. I lined up the star stamps, closed my MISTI then removed the die cut panel, leaving the main panel in place. I used Versamark ink to stamp the stars and then heat embossed them with WOW! Perissa embossing powder (a chunky mix of rust, silver and gold).
I adhered a couple of the die cut smaller stars onto the die cut panel with liquid adhesive and stamped some of the smaller star stamps in Black Jack CP ink. I then adhered the die cut panel over the top of the heat embossed panel with foam tape. The sentiment (created using the words from the set) was heat embossed with WOW! Bright White embossing powder onto a strip of black cardstock and adhered over the top.
Card 3
I wanted to create a starry comic book feel with this card. I first used the Twisted Sunburst stencil over some Canson XL watercolor cardstock, and ink blended Grape Crush (centre), Be Mine and It’s a Boy CP Inks over the top. Before lifting off, I gave it a spritz with shimmer spray and then lifted it off. When dry, I die cut the centre with one of the Starshine dies. I also stamped the Super and Star sentiments from the Starshine stamp set in Midnight CP ink, as well as a couple of the small star stamps.
I adhered a window of plastic behind the panel and added foam tape all around the star shape. I sprinkled some sequins and beads into the centre, and then overlaid a panel of the new patterned paper (the light blue paisley). I popped the entire shaker panel onto a white card base. To give a little more comic book feel, I used a white gel pen and a black gel pen to outline the star, fill in some of the stars and the sentiments.
Card 4
My final card uses the new Say It In Diamonds stamp set. I cut a panel of CPD Vellum to A2 size, and then using the stamps from the set, stamped a pattern in Versamark ink. I used an acrylic block to do this, and added my embossing powder and heat set in between each stamping. For the sentiment and the edge patterns I used WOW! Opaque Bright White. For the main diamonds I used WOW! Metallic Gold Sparkle and Metallic Silver Sparkle.
I adhered some of the striped patterned paper from the Paisley and Peacocks set to a white cardbase and then adhered the heat embossed panel over the top using narrow double sided tape along each edge (which you can’t see at all!) The vellum helps tone down the brightness of the patterned paper for a more subtle look.
