Hi everyone, hope you are all feeling bright and breezy now the work weeks have started again – I’m still on maternity leave with Ruby but I did get to watch my husband miserably leave the house for the first day back after Christmas – and in 29F!! Which brings me onto this week’s AAA Card Challenge – Winter Wonder!! We want to see your clean and simple snowy, wintery cards!
This week’s challenge and prize is sponsored by Make it Crafty, who specialise in digital and rubber stamps. All of the design team this week are using Make it Crafty products as they kindly provided one free of our choosing (you do not need to use Make it Crafty products to participate). The lucky winner will get a voucher to spend in their online store.
Now onto my card – I wanted to keep it clean and simple so I chose one of the scene digi stamps ‘Icy Lake Scene‘ and printed it onto watercolor paper in black on my inkjet printer so that it measured 3.75″ x 5″ (just under). I also printed the ‘You are Snow Fun‘ sentiment digi onto vellum using my printer.
I then trimmed out the scene with my paper trimmer and roughly watercolored the frozen lake in a pale bluey-grey for interest using my Sakura Koi watercolors. I used Crystal Stickles to edge the snow and after it was dry, trimmed out the vellum sentiment strip and folded it around the scene, taping on the back. I then popped it all up on fun foam to a 110lb Neenah Solar White card base (cut to 3.75″ x 10″ scored at 5″) using Tombow mono multi adhesive.
I’m really pleased with how this turned out – Digi stamps are so versatile, they can be sized however you like (I tried several sizes of the sentiment before I was happy with it). Don’t be afraid to experiment with them!
We hope you’ll join in this week’s challenge, click on the picture below to go to the site.
Have a lovely week!!

Just beautiful, love the digi you chose and how you added your own bits to it.
