Hi All!
I’m doing a super quick post today for the AAA Cards Challenge. This week has been super hectic with baby showers, furniture deliveries, work and I don’t know what else!! Oh yes my 2 year anniversary today too 😀
My card today is for the Autumn (Fall) AAA Cards Challenge. I had to use my Tim Holtz Bigz die and cut the leaf shape from some watercolor paper i’d colored with various autumnal paints and a selection of Lindy’s Stamp Gang Moonshadow mists (these are great as they all have an undertone of brown and are very shimmery).
I coated the leaf in Distress Crackle Paint (rock candy) for a natural dried look.
I popped up the leaf on a background of the Neat and Tangled hoop die cut from brown cardstock, and backed with some real cross stitch white Aida fabric. Over the top i added a Mama Elephant Thanks die cut from gold DCWV glitter cardstock. Some faceted enamel dots (old stash from Michael’s) finished off the design, backed on Simon Says Stamp cream card.
Please join us this week at AAA Cards for the autumnal colors challenge. We can’t wait to see what you come up with – and here’s hoping it finally chases away the awful humidity here in NY!!

Your use of that die and aida fabric is just inspired, fabulous example of the challenge's twist. Hope you're finding time to put your feet up a bit as well as making the most of your last days before two becomes three.
Really gorgeous leaf – I love the shimmer and the crackle you created – and the perfect Autumn colours! Your take on the fabric twist is brilliant too! I have to get that die! Jill
Super card, Jenny. Beautifully inspired. I love it!
wow, what a gorgeous card, love all the details!
Beautifully done Jenny – loads of fantastic autumnal elements showcasing the colours perfectly.
Brilliant fabric twist too! Sarah x
That leaf is gorgeous, as is the whole creation. I am so glad you shared that close-up of the leaf so we could see its fantastic shimmer and sparkle – almost dewey! Love the embroidery hoop and the Aida cloth is such a great take on the fabric twist.
Thanks Jane!! No my feet haven't really been up yet. End of next week that's my plan!
Thanks Jill – I got inspired by one of our other design team members – I can't remember who had it but I HAD to get it. I love x-stitch.
Thanks Melissa!
Thank you Ceal!
Thank you Sarah – had to crack out the x-stitch die for it 😀
Your comment makes me think i should have dotted some glossy accent 'dew drops' on it. Thank you so much Stephanie.
Such great dimension. I love the subtle crackling on the leaf and the sparkle of course! I love that you used cloth for the fabric, great idea! 😉
